she has a hot ass!
i dreamt of the mona lisa last night.
well not just the regular mona lisa by da Vinci,
but specifically the one with the moustache and the goatee.
the famous one by marcel duchamp that says L.H.O.O.Q. at the bottom.
which, pronounced in french, sounds like "elle a chaud au cul".
translating to "she has a hot ass"!
probably Duchamp's most famous 'ready-made', born during the Dada movement.
if i remember all this correctly, it was an anti-art movement that strove to oppose the culture of art and what it stood for, a revolt against the bourgeois society.. or something to that effect..
they had this thing about ready-mades - basically taking something existing and changing it or adding something to create the desired effect..
i think usually meant to be offensive..
incidentally, the word 'dada' is supposedly just a nonsensical word, or a child's word for.. rocking horse i think?
so there you have it. my short introduction into the crazy world of what i studied in uni. presumably, this gives you a little background, and helps you understand a lil' bit about the painting, yes? i dont think i have to explain it specifically..
btw, i also wrote a paper on this dada thing, most of which i have forgotten, and this is all that i can remember, so im just winging it tooo haaa..
***
wow, i havent thought about this kinda stuff in a long time.
makes me kinda miss having all this language spilling out of people around me all the time, like its the most normal conversation topic.
seeing these images all the time, in my surroundings.
i know i been having weird dreams lately (okay i think theyre weird all the time) but at least i know this one isnt random.. and i totally know where its coming from. (=
