cooking at fiona's
i realise i did not post about this day last month that mah qiu and fiona suddenly decided to cook for us. dont know why suddenly though, but i'm not complaining. (=
incidentally, i want to say for the record, that this happened on Saturday, 6th September 2008. simply because the blog sometimes turns out to be a reference on when and what happened during a particular occasion. haha.
anyway, i turned up really rather early at fiona's that day, cos i was lunching in town and then didnt want to head home only to head out again an hour later. i arrived at about 4, to find that fiona had rushed to shower before i came! haha so silly. and it was hot, so i showered too haha!
i was early enough to help with lots of chopping and stirring and dicing and boiling and eating pomelo and drinking yakult hahaha!
plus making the meringue! which failed though!
mah qiu was really upset about it not being stiff enough, and flowing all over the lemon tart. so upon his decision, fiona and i whipped out the equipment and the ingredients to redo the meringue.
the 2nd batch turned out pretty well, except that there wasnt enough for when he got to the centre, so fiona squashed some berries in the middle. HAHA!
jas and belle turned up after lamp hunting just in time for jas to start mashing the potatoes and HELLOOOOOOO!! DID ANYBODY KNOW THAT JASMINE WAS A VIRGIN POTATO MASHER?!!?!????
oh my goodness. i was appalled. hahaha but well done!
after we got the milk and butter heated, mah qiu took over and it looked completely different after that! hahahaha
anyway, i only just saw the photos last night, and there are soooo many of me in it, its really quite funny!! haha here's one.

good ol' mashed potatoes, hearty red wine chicken? (i really cant remember the right name, someone please help!), trusty greek salad and of course the wonderful lemon meringue tart.
