the answer to the seedy question.
i keep forgetting this.
remember this post? i said i sent an email right?
well they replied!
a couple of weeks ago in fact..
well well.
so the correct way to pronounce cedele
is exactly how you would say "Sir Deli".
in fact, there is no foreign origin to the word.
the owners just wanted it to sound like DELI.
how boring. but there you go.
i know there have been many people wondering about this..
cos apparently someone googled "pronounce cedele" and got my blog.
and the many other blogs that puzzle over this problem.
but now, only i have the solution! wahahahaaaaaa

Thanks for checking it out. There was a couple who laughed loudly at me outside Cedele in Raffles City once when I said ce-deli and not ce-de-leh like it was commonly called at that time. I hope that couple that laughed rudely at me are reading this blog.

guess what this post is still valid. I just bought their cakes today and sharing with my bf by pronouncing the name C Deli. he challenged me and asked whether my pronunciation is correct. ask Mr. G, and this post pop-up...thanks a lot ;-)

Haha reading this in 2018. My colleague pronounced it as Sir Dell. So googling to find out.

Same here, we got into a heated debate about the pronunciation of CEDELE (which should be "Sir dell" btw!).
Thanks for the explanation :)

It’s Sir del and not Sir deli. It’s French.
