sisterly bonding
quite a long day today
and a lot of it was spent with the sister..
started out with taking grandma to the hospital in the afternoon
and dropping by her office to pick up some stuff
then finding our way to sim lim in circles and circles of wrong turnings haha
before heading back home to get the parents for dinner.
(by which time i was starving! not having eaten the whole day la!!)
The Ship.
totally reminds me of Shashlik..!
run by sloppy oldish asians, and some young foreign workers?
a bit weird that was.. i thought i heard a waitress calling me 'mum' hahahaaa
the steaks were not too bad actually..
i had the black mushroom steak which was actually really quite good.!
the meat was cooked just right..
tender, soft and juicy.. mmmm!!
the rest of the dishes though..
the fresh onion soup (isnt it supposed to be french onion soup?!), the seafood chowder, the escargots, and the cEAsar salad (spelling, people!)..
i dont know man.. just not up to par..
the onion soup.. a bit thin, and not all that fantastic..
the seafood chowder.. very thin, and in fact tasted like chicken! except for some small pieces of crab stick, and a portion of a prawn.
the escargots.. okay la not that bad, but definitely could be better.
and the caesar salad.. was just weird. firstly they used the wrong type of lettuce?! it was waayyy too creamy, and also was a ridiculously tiny portion!
oh dear oh dear.
but oh well.. aside from all that
i would say it was a relatively good evening la..
things went smoothly without hiccoughs
and there was pleasant conversation flowing..
(which is really rare okay!)
bummed around at home for a while
during which i kept dozing off
finally decided to head out with my sister for some uh.. supper!
we were not hungry la, just a bit mouth itchy, and wanted to just do something!
upper thomson roti prata house for crispy prata and very thin teh peng!
i havent spoken to my sister like this for such a long time man
i remember a time when i used to go for supper with her quite often
we would talk about things, so eventually we got closer..
but nowadays she's away so much, i hardly get to spend time with her..
most of what i get is shared with mom or the boyfriend..
so i guess im glad we had all this time together today..
where we were able to share so many things with each other..
