dinner on an island

just because i was asked.
by a friend who came down from thailand.

prive on keppel island
has a restaurant, a gastrobar, and a bakery.
we obviously didnt go to the bakery.
the restaurant though, is strange cos for some reason
it doesnt make use of the waterfront view right in front
but instead blocks it up with curtains?
very chi chi place, i felt kinda weird in there.

shared a starter of scallop carparccio with caviar and salmon roe.
was just okay only i thought, nothing that great.
i actually quite liked my bread and butter instead.

sea bass i had, which came with
an interesting crust on top of the skin.
dont know what it is, but its good.
plus a bunch of cherry tomatoes, and green beans.

then shared a dessert of i cant remember what..
filo pastry, with apricots, something like that.
the pastry, was not bad, but a bit hard to eat.
shape made it awkward to handle haha.
i liked the crispy caramel wafer biscuit thing it came with,
but then there was apricot sauce on it,
which made it a tad too sweet.

headed out to the gastrobar
just so we could sit out in the open.
interesting stories of grandparents and world war two
got myself a mojito, what else right?
whats amusing is that the staff cant pronounce their menu right
makes things slightly confusing.

this dinner outing, confirmed a lot of what i thought about,
and my earlier decisions, that i thought were unfair.
it also made me very aware of a part of my life
which was so spot on
i failed to notice it.
i thought about it on the way home, and was just appalled
at how i could not have known! i was totally blind i swear.
so shocked i am at my complete ignorance, i cant get over it.

anyway, so this place on this island.
not a place i would return to, its just not my style.
but if you do decide to come here, please drive.
